RECORD PARADE
HOME GUARD AT CAMBRIDGE KEEN INTEREST SHOWN (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Wednesday Far greater interest than was anticipated is being shown by Cambridge district men in the local Home Guard unit, and at last night’s parade there was the record attendance of 160, including about 20 youths. New members last night numbered 40. The training was of a general nature- last night, several -specialised sections being formed. The unit has several instructors in its ranks, who are experienced in rifle drill, first aid, signalling, Vickers and Lewis guns, etc. Great keenness is being shown by many of the men who have been drafted into the special sections, and in addition to the fortnightly parades, they will attend specialised classes every week. Last night’s parade was concluded with a short route march led by the municipal band. Mr C. W. Atkinson has been appointed Quartermaster-Sergeant of the Home Guard Company.
