HEADMASTER FAREWELLED
TE AWAMUTU PRIMARY SCHOOL On Friday afternoon last, the pupils and staff of the Te Awamutu Primary School assembled to bid farewell to the headmaster, Mr A. H. Woods, who has been appointed headmaster at the Maungawhau School. Also present were members of the school committee, parents, and Lieutenant L. J. Smith. The school percussion band opened the proceedings with selections and the pupils joined in the singing of “There’ll Always be an England.” Then two of the pupils, Graham Jamieson and Jocelyn Moor, spoke on behalf of the school, and presented Mr Woods with a bag of golf clubs. Mr Woods was wished every success at his new school. Mr L. S. Armstrong, chairman of the primary school committee, thanked Mr and Mrs Woods for their great help in school affairs, and expressed the committee’s gratitude to them both. Mr Woods suitably replied.
