CAMBRIDGE ORPHANS

CHURCH SOCIETY AS GUEST (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday The monthly session of the Orphans’ Club was held in the Arawa Hall last night, when the local branch of the Church of England Men’s Society was the guest of the club. In extending a hearty welcome to the visitors, the president, Bro. E. Hayden, said he had been advised late in the day that several other clubs which had been invited could not attend. He then invested Bro. J. Archer as chairman of the evening. Bro. A. Finch replied on behalf of the Church of England Men’s Society and thanked the club for an enjoyable evening. The following programme was given:—Selections, the orchestra; humorous items, Bro. E. Hayden; recitations, Bro. Klaus; comic songs, Bro. Weatherall; violin solos, Bro. M. Richardson; sengs, Bro. R. Hayden; recitation, Bro. C. Boyce. Bros. Richardson and Weatherall led the members in community singing, and a successful evening concluded with ‘•Auld Lang Syne” and ‘‘God Save the King.’
