RAIDS BY BRITISH FLIERS MILITARY OBJECTIVES HIT ATTACK IN ABYSSINIA (Omcnu ■wireless) (Received Aug. 21, 1 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 20 A Royal Air Force communique issued at Cairo on Tuesday states:— “ During the night of August 18 our bombers attacked Dema. A salvo of bombs was observed to fall near the harbour jetty and shipping. “ Bombs were dropped on a camp and a petrol dump at Bir-el-Gobi, and a satellite aerodrome was also attacked yesterday. “ Three enemy aircraft approached within 35 miles of Malta, but made off when our fighters wept up. “ Later another small force was reported, but also turned away when our fighters took off. “ Aircraft of the Royal Air Force successfully covered the evacuation of British Somaliland. “ When bombers attacked a petrol dump at Batie, in Abyssinia, all bombs dropped in the target area.”
