HOCKEY TOURNEY
SCHOOLS AT PLAY DOMINION' CHAMPIONSHIPS MATCHES IN AUCKLAND One win and one loss was the record of the Hamilton team in the New Zealand secondary schools’ hockey tournament at Auckland when the second and third rounds were played yesterday. Members of the visiting teams were entertained at a city theatre last night and this afternoon were to be taken on a trip j to Hobsonville. A dinner will be held i this evening. In the second round the Hamilton i team beat Wellington Technical by | two goals to one, the scorers for the ; winners being P. Senior and Norris, j G. Eeles goaled for Wellington. In * the third round Gisborne High School, displaying an early superiority, beat Hamilton 10—3. At halftime the score was 6 —l, and although Hamilton worked hard in the second spell the Gisborne team widened its margin. Kemp (3), Bullivant (2), Murray, Martin, Roos, Cassin and Walsh scored goals for the winners, Norris (2) and Chester- j man netting for Hamilton. The results of the matches played yesterday were as follows: — Second Round.—Section A: Gisborne High, 4, Seddon Memorial j Technical, 0; Hamilton Technical, 2. i Wellington Technical, 1; Auckland ! Third Round.—Seddon A: Auckland Grammar A, 17, Seddon Memorial Technical, 0; Gisborne High, 10, Hamilton Technical, 3; Palmerston North High, 3, Wellington Technical, 1. Section B: Stratford Technical High, 5, Wairarapa College, 3; Mount Albert Grammar, 3. Auckland Grammar B, 2; Wellington College, 2, Howick, 0.
