j CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGI'E j The annual meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the Catholic Women’s League was held in the Convent School room. The balance sheet and report of the previous year’s activities were read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs T. Ryan; vice-president, Mrs H. Munro; secretary, Mrs J. Doorty; treasurer, Mrs T. Brodie; committee, Mesdames A. Murdock, S. Bain, C. Garrick, H. Goonan, A. Buckley, J. Bain, G. Philpott, J. Ford. BRIDGE AFTERNOON A most successful bridge afternoon was held in the Parish Hall, recently, the funds, amounting to £lO 4s, being donated to the Red Cross funds. The president, Mrs T. Ryan, received the guests. The hall was most artistically decorated with bowls of Iceland poppies and a cheery log fire was much appreciated. The prize winners were Mrs C. Glimmer and Mrs Meadows. Eighteen tables were filled and a most successful afternoon was the result. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs; J. Mulcahy, Mrs H. Scholium and Miss Evelyn Howard.
