DENNIS—WALKER BRIDE IN OYSTER SATIN The Methodist Church, Te Awamutu, was the scene of a pretty wedding on the afternoon of Saturday, July 20, when Marie Elizabeth Walker, second daughter of Mrs Ivan Tolich was married to George Francis, only son of Mr and Mrs Dennis, of Frankton Junction. The Rev. Spencer officiated. The bride, who was given away by her stepfather, wore a graceful gown of oyster satin, the front being shirred and trimmed with applique. The train was heavily trimmed in the same manner. A lovely tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of lily-of-the-valley, and she carried a sheaf of white anenomes and cameiias. The Attendants The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Valerie Walker, who was wearing a frock of lilac taffeta trimmed with gold and a tulle Dolly Varden hat. Lila Dennis, sister of the bridegroom, and Jacqueline Hurley, cousin of the bride, were flowergirls and were frocked in blue taffeta. They wore gold Juliet caps and carried posies of spring flowers. The best man was Mr Sehvyn Peace, of Frankton, and Messrs Joseph and Ivan Tolich were the ushers at the church.

The reception was held in the Regent lounge, where Mrs Tolich received the guests in a grape wool georgette frock, a fur coat and a matching toque. Mrs Dennis was in a forest green frock, a fur coat and a matching hat. They both carried bouquets in .autumn shades.

When Mr and Mrs G. F. Dennis left for their honeymoon, the bride was in a mirage blue frock, a fur coat and toning accessories. Following the ceremony, Mr and Mrs Tolich entertained a large number of guests at the Town Hall, when the bride’s two brothers, Messrs Kay and Ivan Walker, who are members of the third echelon, were farewelled. BLOMFIELD—WHITAKER A charming wedding was celebrated on Saturday afternoon August 10, at the Cuba Street Methodist Church, Palmerston North, when Nancy, only daughter of Mrs and the late Mr A. Whitaker, of Palmerston North, was married to Trevor Edwin, eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. R. Blomfleld, of Waitoa. The Rev. Ormond E. Burton, of Wellington, performed the ceremony, and Mr Len Drake presided, at the organ. The church had been beautifully arranged with pink blossoms by friends of the bride.

The bride, who was given away by Mr M. Yensen, wore a lovely gown of blush pink crepe-de-chine. The bodice featured a high gathered neckline and the sleeves were long with gathered shouldeYlines. The back was finished with sunray tucks and the front was softly shirred to a pointed yoke. Her filmy veil of hand-embroidered, tulle was held to the head by pale pink flowers and silver leaves and fell to form a long train. Her bouquet was composed of pink hyacinths, carnations, and freesias.

In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Joyce Blomfleld, of Waitoa, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a gown of rose pink georgette. The skirt was gathered at the waistline and fell in soft folds to end in a narrow frill around the hem. The bodice featured a square shirred neckline and the elbow-length sleeves were shirred at the shoulder and finished with gathered pink satin ribbon. Her headdress was of pink tulle fastened to the head with pink velvet flowers and satin ribbon, and her bouquet was composed of pink flowers. Mr Percy Gourlay acted as best man.

Following the ceremony, a buffet breakfast was held at the residence of Mrs M. Williams, of Palmerston North, where Mrs Whitaker, assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, received the guests. The former was in a tailored navy ensemble and maroon felt hat and she wore a shoulder spray of violets, daphne, and pink hyacinths. Mrs Blomfleld wore a charming ensemble of bottle green marocain with a felt hat to match and her shoulder spray was of violets, daphne, and hyacinths. When Mr and Mrs T. E. Blomfleld left by car for their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a tailored navy suit with hat and accessories to

tone. Their future home will be at Colyton, Palmerston North.
