DEFENCE OF BRITAIN
PREPARATION FOR INVASION FRESH MEASURES TAKEN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, August 19 Britain is taking fresh measures to prepare for invasion. The Minister of Home .Security, Sir John Anderson, has made an order bringing the whole of Britain within the scope of the defence regulations. The regional commissioners are authorised to issue any directions or orders for the purpose of defence within their respective areas. They will act in close co-operation with the military authorities. The new measure is a precautionary one. No further restrictions are placed on freedom. The measure will enable immediate action to be taken as required in the event of invasion by land, sea or air. It will apply to such things as the curfew and access to beaches.
