PERFORMERS’ CLUB
THE SALON ORCHESTRA The Hamilton Performers’ Club held one of its most successful functions on Saturday night when a record number of members and visitors enjoyed an excellent programme presented by Hamilton’s newlyformed orchestra, The Salon Orchestra. Under the baton of Mr W. Whitehead, the orchestra rendered delightful selections, and individual items and duets made an enjoyable contrast. Members of the orchestra are:— Misses C. and Y. McLachlan, Messrs P. Harvidge, M. Kelly, I. Bridon, C. Champness, Jones, W. Taylor, W. Woolford, L. Hansen, F. Redman, B. Worth, H. Reid. The programme was as follows: Musical numbers by the orchestra; vocal solos, Mr M. Burdis; piano duet, Miss Joy Duncan and Mr W. Whitehead; violin solo, Mr M. Kelly; vocal solos, Miss D. Liddy; piano duet, Miss Joan Pickering and Mr W. Whitehead. Dance music was supplied by the Salon Orchestra. Among those present were:—Mesdames W. WhiV3head, A. Cope, H. D. Curling, H. Kingston, H. Reid, R. Pe-«otti, J. Bruce, A. Redman, W. Kennedy, W. Bonham. Misses Joan Pickering, Joan Vale, Phil Rear, Alison Storey, Dorothy Pickering, Maisie Traill, Des Liddy, Poppy McLachlan, Dorothy White, N. King, Cecilia McLachlan, Eileen Carr, Joy Duncan, Yvonne McLachlan, Mary Duncan, Rosalie Seddon, Dulcie Griffiths, Rae Melrose, Joan Harder, Audrey Seddon, ' Leonie Swarbrick, Maureen Harder, Shirley Burton, Betty Furby, Phyllis Eyre, T. Woolford, Betty Boucher.
