CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE Mrs E. Casey presided over the third annual meeting of the Matamata branch of the Catholic Women’s League, when there was a good attendance. After the annual report had been read, and adopted, the president thanked members for their valuable assistance. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs E. Casey (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mrs Kilbride, senr., and Mrs N. Cronin; secretary, Mr J. J. Ryan (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs J. McKinstry; committee, Mesdames R. Arbuckle, J. Malligan, senr., W. P. Ryan, G. McGahan, Davis, L. C. A. Potter, Mildenhall, T. Clarkin, J. W. Cathro, R. Kard.
FAREWELL EVENING A soily evening was held at the | home of Mrs H. Summerville, Waha- ; roa, when a number of friends | gathered to farewell Miss M. C. j Molesworth, of the Matamata Post Office staff, who has been transferred I to Hamilton. During the course of the evening Mr Lyall Brewer, on be- ! half of those present, presented the I guest-of-honour with a handsome ! leather suitcase, as a token of the esteem in which she was held. Miss Molesworth suitably responded. Among those present were:—Mesdames J. Swap, D. Dobson, Roy White, C. D. Molesworth, L. Brewer, C. Molesworth (Auckland), A. Molesworth. Misses G. L<vwis, W.
