SEAMAN’S FATAL FALL
BETWEEN SHIP AND WHARF (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WESTPORT, Monday An able-seaman on the Kaimai, which is chartered by the Westport Coal Company. Mr W. Rigg, single, aged 26, of Grafton Road, Auckland, was killed this evening when he fell between the ship and the wharf when going aboard. The chief officer heard a splash as Mr Rigg hit the water, and an hour later the body was recovered by the police. It is believed that Mr. Rigg was fatally injured when he fell from the wharf.
