PRICE OF NAILS
TRIBUNAL FIXES MAXIMUM (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The Price Tribunal recently received numerous inquiries from various districts in New Zealand in regard to the selling prices of wire nails, and upon investigation it has been found that in some cases the prices charged had been in excess of those authorised. In order to correct this position, the Price Tribunal has issued a price order fixing the maximum wholesale and retail prices at which wire nails may be sold throughout the Dominion. In the prices fixed by the new order an allowance has been made for the additional 5 per cent sales tax recently imposed. Prices are on a basis of £49 10s a ton wholesale for No. 7 gauge and heavier.
