CHANGES INADVISABLE
ACCLIMATISATION AFFAIRS FISHING REGULATIONS (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Monday At a meeting of the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society held in Cambridge on Saturday night there was a good deal of discussion concerning the fishing regulations for the coming season. The president, Mr F. E. McKenzie, of Auckland, who presided, said that the association had decided upon a policy for the rivers in its area and it was not advisible to make many changes. The Matahura Stream, •near Ohinewai, was restricted to fly fishing. In connection with the proposals put forward last year by the Hon. W. E. Parry, for State control of acclimatisation areas, Mr McKenzie stated that he had received an assurance from the Minister that no change would be made during the war. This fact would be appreciated by sportsmen, but it would be regretted that a Gazette notice had been published closing the season for grey duck for two years.
