FIGHTING IN SOMALILAND EVERY YARD CONTESTED IMPORTANT LOSSES INFLICTED (Official Wireless) (Received August 19, S.lS'p.m.) RUGBY, August 18 A Cairo communique states: In Somaliland on Saturday the enemy renewed determined attacks with picked Italian troops, supported by artillery, tanks and aircraft. The British force continues to fight with the utmost gallantry, inflicting important losses on the enemy and contesting every yard of its withdrawal towards Berbera.
On other fronts there is nothing to report.
