SUBMARINE LOST

VESSEL LONG OVERDUE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, August 17 The Admiralty announces that the submarine Orpheus is considerably overdue and is presumed to have been lost. The Orpheus, which was completed in 1929, had a surface displacement of 1475 tons and a normal complement of 50. She is the third of her class of six vessels to be lost and the 13th British submarine destroyed by enemy action.
