RUKUHIA FUNCTION
PRESENTATION MADE A successful evening was held at the Rukuhia Hall recently, to farewell Private* Norman Carryer, of the third echelon. The hall was attractively decorated with multi-coloured flags and flowers, and excellent music was provided tiy Mrs Flyger and Mr Joe Raynes, and, the master of ceremonies was Mr Graham Boyd. The guest of the evening was presented with a wristlet watch from his friends and relatives of Rukuhia, and Mr Penniket, on hehalf of those present, wished him a speedy and safe return. Pte. Carryer suitably replied. Among those present were:—Mesdames Carryer, Wallace Raynes, Steele, Gorrie, Frazer, Wooletton, Trew, Flyger, Weaver, Hepburn, Goodyer, Pyper, Bowler, W. Steele, Provis, Asplin, Adams, Boyd, Robinson, Newland and Martin.
Misses Nancye Baynes, Dot Trew, Mary Carryer, Rutter, Ailsa Woolven, Thora Bremer, Jean Dines, Gwen Steele, Delcie Newland, Ray Provis, Poppy Newland, Nell Provis, Mavis Wallace and Adams.
