NEW ZEALANDER APPOINTED (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) TAURANGA, Friday Advice that Lieutenant-Com-mander C. J. West, of Mount Maunganui, has been appointed to command one of His Majesty’s ships in the Far East has been received by Mrs West. Lieutenant-Commander West, who for some years has been chairman of the Mcjunt Maunganui Town Board, served in the last war and left some time ago to rejoin the Royal Navy.
