OBITUARY

MR HECTOR BYWATER NOTED NAVAL WRITER (United Tress Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlfrnt) LONDON, Aug. 17 The death has occurred of Mr Hector Bywater, noted writer on naval affairs, at the age of 55. Mr Hector Bywater, who was naval and shipping correspondent of the Daily Telegraph, was born in London. Between 1898 and 1914 he travelled and resided in Canada and the United States and on the Continqpt. For a period he was naval correspondent in Germany of the Navy League. Naval and Military Record, Pall Mall Gazette and Daily Graphic From 1914 to 1918 he was engaged in intelligence work and later, before his appointment with the Daily Telegraph. was for five years naval correspondent of the Daily News and the Observer. He had many publications to his credit.
