PAGEANT OF EMPIRE
PROPOSAL FOR HAMILTON AN INSPIRING PRODUCTION The proposed Pageant of Empire was launched very enthusiastically in Hamilton this week, and the production should be a great success. Thp scenario, written by Mr R. Braithwaite, illustrates very fully the outstanding events in English history and their bearing on the England of today, when all that Britain stands for is attacked by the Nazi hordes. Miss Phyllis Torpy has been appointed producer, and, having just returned from London, where she took a course in play production, she is well qualified for the job. A meeting of those willing to take part in the production will be held on Monday night, and it is hoped there will be a large attendance. The Pageant of Empire should be a colourful, educational, entertaining and inspiring production.
