ROMANCE IN HOLLYWOOD
LORETTA YOUNG’S WEDDING CROWD OUTSIDE CHURCH A crowd numbering fully 3000 assembled outside the Roman Catholic Church at Westwood Village, Hollywood, when Loretta Young, film star, was married to radio chief, Tom Lewis. There were only 30 intimate friends inside the church. The bride was given away by her brother, Jack, and sister Georgianna was maid of honour. Loretta looked lovely. A crowded reception, attended by all the famous folk of Hollywood, was held afterwards at the bride’s
Beverly Hills home. Loretta ran away from school to marry Grant Withers when she was only 16 years of age. The marriage lasted only six months, after whicn she returned to the old home with her mother and sisters. Divorce followed, and it was thought remarriage was out of the question owing to her religious faith.
