STERLING EXCHANGE LOWER DAIRY ADVANCES HIGHER (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The Reserve Bank return for the week ended Monday, August 12, was gazetted to-night. The statement is balanced at £43,875,290, or £156,268 less than at the close of the previous week. The reserve of sterling exchange is £860,755 lower in value than on the preceding Monday. Notes and other demand liabilities are less by £251,000, the chief movement having been a fall of £728,100 in the deposits of the trading banks. The ratio is 36.154 per cent, compared with 38.02 per cent the week before. Advances are higher by £729,939, those to the Primary Products Marketing Department having increased by £169,939, and other purposes advances by £560,000.
