Closing of Street

In reply to a request from the Housing Construction Department it was decided at the meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council last night to close part of Brookfield Street, Hamilton East, and make it available for housing purposes. The borough engineer, Mr R. Worley, stated that the area was suitable for a building section but did not serve much purpose as a roadway. The area in question was situated at the western end of the street. Under the terms of the council’s consent the department was asked to pay all costs involved, including those of footpath construction.
