OUTPUT OF CHEESE
MANUFACTURE AT TOKOROA AVERAGE RETURN OF 18.072 d (Special to Times.) PUTARURU, Thursday In spite of a reduction in the number of suppliers from 32 to 29, the output of cheese for the year was 477 J tons, or only 11£ tons less than the previous season, states the annual report of the Tokoroa Co-opera-tive Dairy Company. Ltd. The estimated average pay-out quoted in the report for the season 1938-39 was 17.012 d a lb butter-fat. The actual season average pay-out. which was finally made, was 16.998 d. Advance payments to June 30. 1940, on the total of the season’s butter-fat averaged 15.996 d a lb but-ter-fat, and the accounts showed a further balance available for distribution of £3562 10s Id, making the total estimated average return 18.072 d a lb, irrespective of grade. Of this amount available for distribution £1715 7s 6d has been already distributed by way of a bonus of Id over the whole season’s butter-fat. The balance will be paid this month. The grade of cheese produced shows a considerable improvement over the previous year's return. The retiring directors, Messrs J. Mossop, J. Campbell and G. Ireland, offer themselves for re-election.
