FUNDS FOR COMFORTS
AFTERNOON AT TE AWAMUTU
A flag bridge and five hundred afternoon was held in the Town Hall, Te Awamutu, on Tuesday, in aid of funds lor comforts for the returned soldiers on guard at Arapuni. The shop was artistically decorated with large bowls of cherry blossom and yellow wattle and the supper room was bright with poppies and spring flowers. The hostesses organising the afternoon were Mrs 11. C. Rainey (convener), Mrs C. S. Downes, Mrs Owen O'Brien, Mrs A. R. Kay, and Miss Hayward, assisted by Mesdames Bluck, C. W. Rickit, Roy Mexted (Te Kawa), Horan, Montefiore, J. Parr, Self, D. Wallace. Among those present were:—Mesdames Marsh, Thompson, Bayly, E. Hopping, Oates, O’Brien, Russell, Young, L. Nicholson, Burchell, Irwin, Law, Nobes, Neill, Bluck, North, Boryer, Broadbent, Angus, Webber, Pryer, F. Thomas (Te Kawa), Tailby, Ellis, Friedlander, D.
