R.A.F. CASUALTIES

FORMER HAMILTONIANS HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS Formerly of Hamilton, Pilot-Officer George Gordon Crawford, only son of Mrs A. Crawford, 129 Sherbourne Street, St. Albans, is reported killed in an aircraft accident in England. Pilot-Officer Crawford was born in Christchurch in 1917, when his parents went to live in Hamilton. He spent four years at the Hamilton High School and later attended the Christchurch Boys’ High School. After leaving school he served as an aircraftsman in the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Wigram for eight months, before leaving for England in November 1938 to take up a short service commission with the Royal Air Force. Another former pupil of the Hamilton High School whose death was reported last week as a result of a flying accident in England, was Pilot-Officer Arthur Vivian Fisher, of Paeroa. After leaving high school he was employed in the office of the New Zealand Dairy Company. Later he left for England to take up a short service commission with the Royal Air Force. He had been in England only a short time before his death.
