DRIVER FOR TRIAL
CYCLIST’S DEATH RECALLED (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Monday Charged with negligently driving a car and causing the death of a cyclist, also with failing to stop, Eric Jansen, land salesman, single, aged 45, appeared in the Police Court today before justices. A fatal accident near the Whau Bridge on the Great North Road on July 8, when Norman Herbert York was killed, was the origin of the charge. Accused pleaded not guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was fixed at £2OO.
