TRANSPORT TRIBUNAL
COUNTY SUPPORTS PROPOSAL The suggestion made by the users’ interests in relation to the fixation of cartage rates for the South Auckland area, that an independent tribunal should be established to consider the transport position in’ New Zealand, was to-day supported by the Waikato County Council. The suggestion is that the tribunal should consist of a Supreme Court judge, one representative of the carriers and one representative of the users. It is proposed by the users’ committee to endeavour to take action through the Dairy Board, the Counties’ Association and the Farmers’ Union to persuade the Minister of Transport to establish such a tribunal.
