ATTITUDE OF JAPAN MAINTENANCE OF PEACE (United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyright) TOKIO, August 12 The Foreign Office spokesman, Mr Suma, said the Japanese Government was not planning further requests to the belligerents to follow Britain’s withdrawal of garrisons in China. He said Japan was assuming responsibility for the maintenance of peace and order in the occupied areas, for which reason foreign Powers were not necessary.
