MORRINSVILLE VALUES The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports as follows on the Morrlnsville stock sale, held on Friday:—An average entry ol' cattle came rorward, which Included a good entry of dairy cattle. A small yarding of rat sheep was orrered, which consisted mainly of fat hoggets. Fat cattle were in keen request and prices throughout were good, one pen of medium prime bullocks sold on behalf or Mr C. E. Barker, Walton, realised £ll 1 is. The dairy cattle were also in very keen request and prices advanced somewhat on recent cales. We quote:— Medium prime Polled Angus steers, £ll 1 is: prime rat Jersey cows, £7 to £5 ss: medium fat cows, £6 to £6 15s; heavy boners, £j 10s to £5 15s; medium boners, £3 5s to £ i 2s 6d; empty two-year-old Jersey heifers, £1 to £4 15s; young, sound empty cows, £3 10s to £i 7s 6d; choice quality dairy heifers, £l2 10s to £li; medium quality, £lO to £ll 15s; good quality dairy cows, £9 to £l2 ss; backward cows, £7 10s to £9; medium quality yearling Jersey heirers, £4 to £4 lis; medium fat hoggets, 25s to 28s Gd. PAEROA QUOTATIONS G. W. Vercoe and Company, Limited, I report having held their rortnightly stock sale at Paeroa on Thursday, when the advertised entry or cattle came forward. Competition for all classes was keen throughout and a very satisfactory clearance resulted at prices fully equal to those which have been ruling at other centres. Quotations: — Good quality Jersey heifers (early calvers), £l2 to £l4: good quality later calvers, £ll to £ll 15s; small, £9 to £lO 10s; backward and Inferior, to £8 10s; good quality Jersey cows (early calvers), £lO to £ll 15s; others, £9 to £9 15s; backward and inferior, to £8; good quality Shorthorn and Shorthorn-cross cows (early calvers). £lO to £io 10s; others, to £9 10s; good quality Friesian heirers (early calvers), £ll to £l2; more backward, to £10; heavy fat Jersey cows, £7 10s to £8 ss; medium-weights, £6 10s to £7 7s Gd; light. £5 10s lo £G ss: heavy boners, £4 to £ i 15s; others, to £3 15s; good quality yearling Jersey heifers. £G to £6 3s; small, to £4 19s-. fat hoggets, 23s to 2Gs; small ewe hoggets, to 265. CLEARING AT NGAHINAPOURI A most successful clearing sale was conducted by Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., on behalf of Mr L. F. Beere, Ngahinapouri. The herd of 9 5 Jersey cows, together with an exceedingly large range of implements, attracted one of the largest crowds seen at a clearing sale for some time, and spirited competition was the order or the day in all sections. Calved cows and those close to prollt attracted strong competition at from £l3 to £ls 10s; others, £ll 10s to £l2 10s; older and later calvers, £9 to £lO 105; calved heirers sold freely from £l3 to £ls 10s; with heirers close to prollt, realising from £lO 10s to £l2 10s. The offering of horses attracted considerable Interest, one of the freest of sales resulting: A four-year-old mare realised £39; Tour-year gelding, £37; eight-year gelding. £36; eight-year gelding. £33; aged gelding, £2 2. The sows to farrow met strong competition. the line or in soiling from £9 tos to £lO 10s; stores, to 395; small stoics 28 s. The largest offering nr implements was keenly competed for, the Farmall 12 tractor realising £195; Farmall sweep. £l7 10s; mower. £4l; plough, £22; all implements selling well up on recent rates.
