GRAND CARNIVAL DANCE
ST. MARY’S SOCIAL CLUB A grand carnival dance o£ outstanding success was held on Wednesday evening in the Marist Hall by the St. Mary’s Social Club. An energetic committee had transformed the hall into a fairyland with pungas, lycopodium, and clusters of golden wattle, lighting from Chinese lanterns and coloured electric globes showing to advantage the pretty frocking of the many dancers. Music was supplied by Critchley’s orchestra, the duties of master of ceremonies being carried out by Mr P. Ryan. Novelty dances were won by Mrs I. Rogers and Miss P. Hall. At the conclusion of the evening cheers were called for and good wishes extended to members of the Third Echelon, N.Z.E.F., who were present. Among those present were:—Mesdames W.
