SUPERIORITY SHOWN
PREPARATORY SCHOOLS RUGBY SOUTHWELL WINS AGAIN In a series of Rugby matches played this season between the three preparatory schools of the Auckland Province, King’s, Southwell, and St. Peter’s, keen interest has been evinced. All the schools played each other twice, Southwell and King’s winning all their games against St. Peter’s. On Saturday at Southwell grounds, King’s and Southwell met in a match which was in effect the final of the provincial series of friendly games. Southwell won by 18 points to 0, thus preserving a superiority which has been shown by the school over a number of years. Further interest was added to the game by reason of the fact that both Southwell and King’s had been winning in school competitions in Hamilton and Auckland respectively. For Southwell points were scored by Goodall (two tries), Paine, and Fagan (each one try), and Spencer (two penalty goals).
