PRE-WEDDING PARTIES

MISS C. GAZE HONOURED Miss Cecil Gaze was the guest of honour at a charming afternoon given by Miss Betty Brown at her home in Queen’s Avenue, recently, in honour of her approaching marriage to Mr Roger Blunt. A happy time was spent by the guests, who brought gifts for a green kitchen, and a delicious afternoon tea was served. Miss Brown was in a frock of dusky pink crepe soie, and Miss Gaze was wearing a lime green angora frock. Those present were:—Mesdames lan Johnstone, Allan Shaw and D. Lowrie. Misses Patty Blake, Betty Blunt, Joyce Lewis (Cambridge), Joan Bremer, Barbara Robinson, Athalie Gaze and Morva Sandham. GIFT EVENING EH* j Mrs E. Elliott recently entertained a number of friends at the home of her mother, Mrs K. A. West, Hammond Street, in honour of Miss Cecil Gaze, who is shortly to be married. The rooms were artistically arranged with bowls of early spring flowers, and during the evening the guest of honour was made the recipient of many charming gifts for her new home. Mrs E. Elliott received her guests wearing a powder blue Jaconne frock, and Miss Gaze was in a frock of clover tresca. Those present were:—Mrs Allan Shaw, Misses Val Jackson, Kathleen Green, Peg Pratt, Barbara Robinson, Alison Gower, Betty Blunt and Joan Lock.
