Cupyrlrni; (Received Aug. 10, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 9 Alter a good start, with the war loan temporarily exceeding par for the iirst time since the crucial stage ol the Battle for France, the stock markets lapsed into a sluggish condition. The war news from Africa contributed to a general shrinkage of gilt-edged securities and industrials, both of which are tending downwards.
