FIRE IN LONDON
BIG WAREHOUSE DESTROYED 500 FIREMEN ENGAGED (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Aug. 9 Five hundred firemen, operating 100 appliances, and seven fire-boats, were engaged for several hours extinguishing one of the biggest fires in London since the outbreak of the war. The fire destroyed a large sevenfloor warehouse at St. Catherine’s Dock, near the Tower Bridge.
