USED-OIL REFINING

MADE LICENSED INDUSTRY (By Telegraph.—Press Assoriatlon) CHRISTCHURCH. Friday The industry of used-oil refining has been brought within the licensing provisions of the Industrial Eflu iency Act. In a statement today the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, said investigations had been made as to the possibility of utilising waste oil in view of the need for economy during wartime. It was considered that it would be in the interests of the community if the industry were put on an efficient basis.

It was now necessary for those already engaged in refining to apply to the Bureau of Industry before August 22 for licenses to continue in the industry, while any persons who contemplated commencing must first make application to the bureau for a license.
