DETERMINED STAND
OPPOSITION TO BRITAIN CHINESE MASS TROOPS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 9, 3.15 p.m.) iTOKIO, Aug. 8 One hundred and twenty-six members of the House of Representatives passed a resolution “ demanding the Government to take a determined stand toward Britain, as well as effective measures to exterminate British influences in East Asia.” HONGKONG, Aug. 8 The authorities are refusing the entry of the Kaijum Maru and the Shirogani Maru as a result of the recent dispute regarding the navigation of the Pearl River. A French traveller from Hanoi states that the Japanese mission presented General Decoux, Commander-in-Chief of the French Far Eastern Forces, with a memorandum covering the “ co-operation ” which Japan expects. Simultaneously it is learned that the Chinese are massing troops on the Indo-China frontier for a push to Hanoi if the Japanese seize the Haiphong railway for troop movement;. CHUNGKING, Aug. 8 The military spokesman said the movements of Indo-Chinese troops on the Kwangsi border indicate that they are preparing to resist a possible Japanese invasion.
