OLD BOYS SERVING HAMILTON HIGH FAREWELL More than 100 members of the Hamilton High School Old Boys’ Association have been mobilised to serve in various branches of the armed forces. Last evening members of the third echelon were farewelled at a gathering of Old Boys which was the most successful of the functions held to farewell each echelon. Seventeen Old Boys in uniform were present. Mr A. G. Ward, president of the association, farewelled the troops on behalf of the association and wished them all good luck and a safe return. On behalf of the school, Mr K. D. Tait, principal, addressed the boys, commenting upon the pride felt by the school that so many old boys had answered the country’s call. Opportunity was taken to make a presentation on behalf of the OJd Boys to Sergeant I. D. Mears, formerly secretary of the association. Reference was made to his services to the committee and his keen interest in the affairs of the assbeiation. Sergeant Mears replied. Squash Racquet Players

A presentation was made to Sergeant I. D. Mears by the Hamilton Squash Racquets Club last night. There was a large gathering of members when Dr. G. W. Gower, club president, presented Sergeant Mears v ith a travelling rug. Sergeant Mears, who was one of the original members of the club, responded.
