WOMEN’S GOLF

HORTON CUP QUALIFIERS The qualifying round for the Horton Cup was played by members of the Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club on the St. Andrews links yesterday. The following players have qualified to play for the cup:— Mrs Morrison, Mrs Berry, Mrs Bindon, Mrs Signal, Mrs Edwards. Mrs Sole, Mrs S. Bennett, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Worley, Mrs Aitken. Mrs Qualtrough, Miss V. Cann, Mrs Melvin, Mrs Brewir, Mrs Toombs. Mrs Jewell, Mrs McDonald, Mrs Reid, Mrs Simons, Mrs Seyb, Mrs Edmonds, Mrs Rawlings, Mrs Hilton. Mrs Batt, Mrs F. H. Taylor, Mrs Watson, Mrs Groom, Mrs Gower. Miss P. Wilson, Mrs Mander, Miss Bruce, Mrs Macdiarmid. The senior L.G.U. medal was won by Mrs Edwards, 72 net, with Mrs S. Bennett, 73 net, in second place. The junior medal resulted in a tie between Mrs Morrison and Mrs Berry, both net 70. Mrs Morrison won in the count back. Mrs Bindon, net 71, was third.
