MATAMATA CLUB SATURDAY’S RESULTS (Special to Times.) MATAMATA, Monday. Senior and junior llag matches were played by Matamata Golf Club members on * Saturday under ideal conditions. In the senior grade C. s. Tapp was an easy winner and his 7 7 was the highlight of the day. Tapp had live strokes to play when lm holed out on the lstli and with a ■; at the 19th ho carried the flag well down the 20th fairway. No other senior r.-ached the ISth green. Tapp’s handicap was reduced from l 1 ;o 8, bis card being 77—11. O'Y lii the junior grade. E. Richardson won by a good margin. I!. Kneebone carried the nag to the edge of the loth green, hut Richardson carried the llag on to near the 20th. Mis medal card was 88—23, rand liis handicap received a cut of -i strokes, bringing him lo 19. Richardson lias had probably the most successful -eason of anv golfer, having won the Junior Handicap Cup, Junior Rose Bowl, D. V. Silk's trophy and Saturday’s Hag match. In the dual of the Junior Rose Bowl. E. Richardson scored a surprise win by 5 and i over G. Maclntyre. The first round of Hie four-ball championship resulted as follows: Seniors.—Tapp and Hamilton beat Ford and Johnston. 2—l; Lee and Campbell beat Mentiplay and Keele.v, 2—l ; Little and Abernethy beat Silk and Sims. 3—l; Beaver and Loveritlge beat Madill and Sutcliffe. 5—3. Juniors.—Fulton and Lovoridge beat Sharp and Collins, 2—i : Townsend and l’ama beat Richardson and Hughes, 3—2.
CAMBRIDGE BEAT BARDOWIE (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Monday A most enjoyable inicr-club golf match was played on the Bardowie Club's links during the week end, Hie visitors being a team from the Cambridge Club.
