DENTAL TREATMENT
TE ARCHA DISTRICT SCHOOLS (Special to Time*) TE AROMA. Monday Tim statement that the Convent School children and those attending the Hunghunga school could now be included for denial treatment at Ihe Te Aroha elk.ir. was made by the chairman, Mr D. Lewis, at the annual meeting of the Te Arohi Schools Dental Clinic committee, held last week. Approval had lx.n received from the department and Nurse J. M. Deacon had been appointed an extra nurse to act i In a relieving capacity for the next tv.o months to enable the work to bo commenced immediatey. Mr Lewis reported that during the past year approximately 1000 patients from the district had been given treatment. lie paid a tribute to the work or the nurses during that time. During the year, the clinic had been enlarged and improvements had been mane. In view or the expense Incurred lie asked the co-operation of all the schools in the area In the collection or the current year’s Tees, which remained at 2s 3d a child. 1 Dr. R. M. S. Taylor, of Hamilton, dental j officer in charge of the area, was in attendance and gave a short address on the importance of correct foods and care of the teeth. He pointed out that the nurses could be of great assistance to parents interested in the dental health or the childfile chairman and tlie secretary. Mr F. Rates, were re-elected. The following representatives were present:— Messrs J. K. Wild (Te Aroha), A. B. Skudder (Waifcoa*, Scott, Davies < \garua), G. J. Toy .Convent-. Tlie chairman thanked fir. Taylor and Nurse M. Lee for attending the meeting.
