GLOVES FOR AIRMEN
WORK FOR GOOD KNITTERS Vv~oollen gloves, which will be worn underneath leather flying gauntlets by pilots and observers of the Air Force, are urgently required for men proceeding on active service. Air Force Relations have been asked to undertake the supply of 2800 pairs within one month, and an appeal is being made to women all over the Dominion to assist in this useful war work. The gloves are to be knitted in special three-ply wool, which is to be supplied through Air Force Relations, Wellington. Careful and neat work is essential, as these gloves must be both serviceable and comfortable if the airmen are to do the> work in them efficiently. Air Force Relations also request that all wool left over should be returned with the gloves when completed, to avoid wastage. Women willing to assist in this urgent and important work are asked to get into touch with Air Force Relations Headquarters, Marine Institute Building, Wellington. It is emphasised that the gloves must be knitted to a special pattern, which will be supplied by Air Force Relations with the wool.
