WAITOA FUNCTION
INGLESIDE HELD The Waitoa Hall was well filled recently, when an ingleside was held, under the auspices of the local patriotic committee, by the Te Aroha and Morrinsville Caledonian Societies. The chair of honour was occupied by Mr N. G. McLeod, ol Te Aroha. Dancing was interspersed with the following items:—Songs, Mrs W. Burch; elocutionary items, Mr N. G. McLeod; tap dances. Misses Avis Frampton, Joy Harbottle. Ailsa Clark, and Irene Martin: Sailors’ Hornpipe. Misses Heather McGregor, Avis Frampton and Rod Sheehy: Highland dancing. Te Aroha and Morrinsville lassies; Combined Pipe Bands; Irish Jig, Misses May Johnson, Avis Harbottle and Ailsa Clark. Mrs A. Harbottle played the accompaniments, and Mr J. Excell acted as master of ceremonies. After supper the president of the local committee stated that £2O had been raised and expressed thanks to the visiting Caledonian Societies, and assisting artists.
