i Mrs Alan Shaw arrived in HamilI ton from Blenheim this morning. i Mrs Gordon Chappell, Morrins- | ville, is the guest of Mrs Chappell, | Snr., Pirongia. I “It is hoped to introduce women j police in the very near future,” the I annual report of the New Zealand | Police Force announces. It de- : scribes activities arising out of the war, and mentions that a great number of the department’s men have enlisted for service. Mrs J. F. Johnstone, Wellington, has been on holiday in the Waikato as the guest of Mrs Roy Austen. News has been received from Miss Beatrice Fisher that she expects to be home in Hamilton by Christmas. Mrs Hugh Jones has left Hamilton to reside in Auckland. Mrs W. G. Neill and Mrs F. Ry- ! burn, Te Awamutu, have returned | from Wellington, where they attended a Dominion Council meeting I of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. The Centennial Plunket House was opened in Ngaruawahia on Saturday afternoon, in the presence of a iarge assembly. As well as being a very suitable Centennial memorial, the building will fill a long-standing need. TAUPIRI Miss Francis is staying with Mrs G. Horward. Miss F. Ralph, Taumarunui, is staying with her sister, Mrs R. Horward. • * • • Mrs J. D. Bruce has returned from a visit to Helensville and Auckland. Mrs W. McDonald, Broadwood, Hokianga, is visiting her sister, Mrs A. F. Buss. Mrs N. Wilson has left Taupiri to reside in Cambridge.
