GIFT TO BRITAIN
260 MOTOR AMBULANCES GENEROSITY OF AMERICANS (Official wireless) RUGBY, July 25 Mr Malcolm MacDonald, Minister of Health, has accepted in London a large part of a fleet of 260 fullyequipped motorised ambulances, surgical units and mobile first aid posts of the American ambulance in Britain from Mr W. B. Phillips, Director-General of Service, presenting them on behalf of Americans in Britain. Mr MacDonald said the vehicles would preserve their distinct and independent status, but would fit in completely with the organisation of our own emergency services. Some of the vehicles would be posted in every region in England, Scotland and Wales. There would be no part of the island where the citizens would not have reason to thank and bless their American friends’ generosity.
