LODGE SOCIAL

KAIPAKI ODDFELLOWS i The monthly meeting of the Kaipaki branch of the Cambridge Oddfellows’ Lodge was held in the hall on Tuesday night. N.G. Brother L. Harvey presided over a good attendance of members and visiting members. The noble grand, on behalf of the Kaipaki branch, presented Brother Fell with a small gift in appreciation of his kindness in supplying music for social evenings. Following the short business meeting, a large number of visiting members, local residents, and friends met to celebrate the second birthday of the Kaipaki branch lodge. The hall had been decorated with lemon and blue streamers and punga ferns, and the long supper tables with of spring blooms. Dance music was supplied by Mrs Wiley, Ohaupo, and extras were played by Brother Fell, Mr D. Russo, and Miss Russo. Messrs L. Harvey and W. Kite were masters of ceremonies. Mr Bruce Forsythe gave tap-dances, and a novelty dance was won by Mr S. Sharp and Miss Ruth Harvey. An iced birthday cake, with two candles, was brought to the stage during the evening and was cut with due ceremony. Cards were arranged for nondancers, the winners being Mr W. Cunningham and Mrs A. Goodwin.
