SUCCESSFUL MEETING

The League of Wives and Mothers of exservicemen and men of H.M. Fighting Forces recently held its fortnightly meeting in the Hamilton Citizens’ bandroom, Mrs D. I. Gate presiding. There was a large gathering of members and friends present, and several new members were welcomed and enrolled. It was decided to continue the Soldiers’ Club recently opened by the league. The social programme was arranged by Mesdames McCready and Vokes, and a very pleasant afternoon was spent. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Mangnall, Devonshire and Woodward. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 6, when soldiers’ wives and mothers are welcome.
