DRAMA FESTIVAL
SECONDARY SCHOOL PLAYS The Secondary Schools’ Centennial Drama Festival in Christchurch will be held on Friday and Saturday, August 9 and 10. Eight plays have been entered by schools so far. They are:—Christchurch Girls’ High School: “The Man Who Married a Dumb Wife,” by Anatole France. Avonside Girls’ High School: “World Without Men,” by Philip Johnson. Christchurch Boys’ High School: “The Spider’s Web,” by J. R. Benedix. St. Margaret’s College: “Catherine Parr,” by Maurice Baring. Selwyn House: “Elizabeth Refuses,” from Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.” Cathedral Grammar School: “The Rehearsal,” by M. Baring. Technical College: “Beyond the Wall,” by Mrs V. Targuse. Christchurch West High School: “The Poetasters of Ispahan,” by Clifford Bax.
