MONEY FROM LETTERS
THEFTS BY POSTMAN GAOL SENTENCE IMPOSED (By Telegraph.—Ptcss Association) ASHBURTON, Friday Edwin Clifford Shea, a married postman, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour on each of 12 charges of stealing letters containing money of a total value of £l9 10s, the sentences to be concurrent. The offences ranged over several months, and the money was spent on drink in sly grog shops.
