AIR SERVICES

ACROSS THE TASMAN NEGOTIATIONS IN AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND’S DESIRE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlg-iit) SYDNEY, Dec. 22 The inauguration in the New Year of the trans-Tasman Air Mail Service may result from discussions between the Federal Government and Mr P. Fraser. The Government’s reply to the proposal will be communicated to Mr Fraser before he leaves Sydney for New Zealand. It is believed that New Zealand has a special interest in the inauguration of the service as soon as possible, but that the British and Australian Governments are hesitant about commencing such a service in time of war.
