DARING EXPLOIT
NAZI ADMISSION “CAUGHT US NAPPING” (Times Air Mail Service.) LONDON, Nov. 29. Berlin’s tribute to the Royal Ail Force was contained in an account by authoritative German sources of Tuesday’s raid by a British fighter patrol on the mine-laying seaplane base at Borkum, in the Frisian Islands, say the News Chronicle. The raid was described as a “ daring exploit,” carried out at a height of only nine or ten feet. It took the defences completely by surprise, said the Nazi spokesman. But he claimed that no serious damage was done as the British machinegun bullets hit only empty wooden huts. On the other hand, further details of the raid made known in London last night show that three Nazi seaplanes, believed to be mine-layers, were riddled with bullets.
